This is an important video. A veterinarian locked in car shows the importance of not leaving your pet alone in the car on hot summer days. One of the most common and often times, accidental causes of death or extreme injury for dogs is when their owners leave them unattended in vehicles during the summer. Leaving your dog in a vehicle, especially when the windows are up, creates somewhat of a greenhouse effect. Meaning, even if it is only 75 or 80 degrees, let alone 90 or greater, the inside of the car can heat up to temperatures in excess of 120 degrees. This often times can mean certain death for the dog inside the vehicle.
The veterinarian featured in this video, in order to illustrate what dogs go through when left in these conditions, locks himself in a vehicle and exposes himself to extreme temperatures. Watch the video to see the results, and share so we can raise awareness of this very real issue!
