It seems that lately, in the news, all you hear about when it comes to police officers and dogs is bad. Usually, the news entails some sort of excessive use of force, often resulting in completely unneeded and tragic loss of a pit bull or other dog that is characterized as being violent or dangerous. Well, here is a different kind of story.
Sergeant Gary Carter received a call about an aggressive and violent Pit Bull. When he arrived, it seemed that it was actually the Pit Bull that needed help.
The dog was lost, and there was no indication that he was aggressive. According to the Carter, the dog’s behavior indicated that the dog was just trying to make friends.
Immediately, the officer took the dog to Arlington Animal Services. Then, they put up a Facebook post to try to locate the dog’s owners.
Thankfully, the dog had a microchip, and was able to be reunited with his owner. A nice police save dog story with a happy ending – this is what I like to see.
