Receiving a puppy into your family, especially as a child or teenager, is usually a very memorable moment that is treasured for many many years. Nobody forgets their first dog. I received my first dog on Christmas in 1997, and I will never forget having her. Those years went way too quickly – she lived to be 10 and she was my best friend for many years. If you can, create one of these memories for your kids, like the one shown in the video below. They’ll thank you for it later, and you’ll be grateful for the opportunity afforded to your kids to learn empathy and responsibility.
