There have been reports lately from Seattle, Washington of a dog that rides the bus… by herself. The story goes that she waits at the bus stop, boards the bus all on her own, hangs out, and then gets off the bus at a very particular stop. Sounds unbelievable, right? We didn’t know what to make of the story at first, but finally, someone caught the dog on film, politely sitting on the bus.
The reports are true. Eclipse the Chocolate lab is a fully urbanized and incredibly intelligent dog who walks on the sidewalk, minds traffic, and can board a bus all by herself. Your next question may be, “Where could a dog possibly have to go on a bus? Is she commuting to work?” Close. The answer is almost too obvious – she is going to the dog park!
When reporters tracked down Eclipse’s owner, Jeff Young, he was pretty nonchalant about the whole affair. “She’s been here for the last two years, so she’s urbanized, totally. She’s a bus-riding, sidewalk-walking dog.” Young also said that he and Eclipse will actually meet at the dog park sometimes. What an interesting pair!
