Here’s a creepy story to get you ready for the Haunting Season.
Take a look at this picture that was recently posted to Weird Whitstable, a site dedicated to weird occurrences that take place in a local town. For the uninitiated, this picture was captured using Google Maps. People frequently scour Google’s extensive database of aerial pictures of the Earth’s surface, looking for interesting anomalies, and then will post them. Due to the sheer size of this super crab, I would guess that this is just a playful hoax and a work of photoshop. However, I think the really interesting thing here is that these pictures have been circulating the internet and people aren’t quite in agreement!

However, I’m going to certify these pictures as extremely creepy, regardless! Real or not, it’s interesting how images such as these play on our fears of the unknown. The ocean itself has always done this for me. When I was a kid, my father would take me out on his boat and let me sit on the edge of the back of the boat. I would stare into the water and it would always creep me out that anything could be down there – these pictures are my worst fears come to life!
