After a cute pup named Prissy was rescued from a life spent on a concrete slab in the scorching Tennessee heat, she needed to go through the typical shelter motions before being put up for adoption. First and foremost, she had to be spayed. While it’s a super routine surgery, dogs who go through it still feel a little groggy and sore when all is said and done.
One shelter staffer knew of a super cute habit Prissy had of wagging her tail in her sleep, so what better time to capture that on camera than while she was in a post-op slumber? The staffer pulled out their phone and started recording. What they ended up capturing, however, was even sweeter. Another shelter worker decided to lay down with Prissy so that when she woke up a little sore from surgery, she wouldn’t feel scared or alone.
“Moments like this are a regular sight at the shelter, however, catching them on camera is rare. The staff usually run when a camera comes out! Sorry, Chrissy, I had to show it,” said the worker who captured the footage. Watch the adorable encounter in the video down below.
