As though finding herself in the animal shelter the first time wasn’t bad enough, Brandy the Pitbull found herself back there a second time after being adopted. However, there was one major difference this time around… Brandy, due to unknown reasons, had become paralyzed from the neck down. Her chances of survival were zero. Then, something wonderful happened.
Due to hundreds of man hours, and thanks to the kind hearts of a team of doctors, veterinary technicians and volunteers, Brandy received the care she needed. The journey she took one step at a time was a challenging one, but after a few months of various treatments, water chamber exercises and other therapeutic techniques, Brandy took her first steps. These incredibly emotional moments were captured on video. I’m so grateful that this wonderful team of human beings was able to make Brandy a paralyzed pitbull no more.
Thankfully, Brandy was able to find a home after completing her recovery from paralysis, but let her story serve as a reminder of why committing to dog adoption is a wonderful thing to do.
