This big Pit Bull was scared and alone… abandoned and left to fend for herself. Thank goodness that Hope For Paws was there to step in and rescue her, as they have rescued so many other dogs.
This abandoned Pit Bull was struggling to survive when Hope For Paws arrived on the scene. She was clearly very shaken, and it would take some time to gain her trust. They started by trying to feed her, leaving a cheeseburger on one side of the fence in order to convince her to squeeze through. When she came around, their next step was to get her to go into the dog cage. Once she was in, the Pit Bull’s rescuers tried to use a soothing tone and food to comfort her before finally loading her into the back of an SUV. In the interest of safety, they felt it would be appropriate to wait until getting back to the rescue center before trying to directly interact with her.
They named her Bunny, and it turned out that she was one of the sweetest dogs they had ever encountered… a gentle giant that just needed some love. This is a wonderful story, and I hope that Hope For Paws can find Bunny the Pit Bull a forever home.
