This video is very sweet, but let me preface this post by saying that it is extremely exceptional and not the norm that a dog is so incredibly gentle when focusing on food, or a bone in this case. This baby’s parents were standing by and certainly had incrementally introduced the dog and the baby to being in this situation together over time. No doubt that the parents were shocked when they discovered just sweet and gentle their Golden Retriever is. Please exercise extreme caution when putting small children with dogs, especially when food is present.
That being said, this is a very sweet Golden Retriever, and seems to share a wonderful friendship with the baby. It’s really a special situation when a baby and a dog can grow up together. The bond they share is irreplaceable, and it also can teach a child many valuable lessons about life, compromise, and the importance of compassion and empathy.
