One of the toughest lessons we all must eventually learn in life is the reality of our own mortality, and the finite time that every creature on this earth has. There’s no right time to go through this experience, but a common way of encountering this for the first time is through the loss of a family dog. Even as an adult, I often contemplate the inevitable: that one day, I will lose my best friend. When I think about it, I become angry and sad. Perhaps I could take a lesson from this little boy.
This 6-year old’s dog passed away, and what he had to say about it truly shows that children can sometimes have untainted, completely valid, and powerful perspectives on the world around them. Take a look at the following image, and see for yourself what he had to say. It is truly inspirational, and I can only hope that this have a positive impact on your view of a dog’s time here on earth.
